Over all I would give the Osprey Daylite Daypack a solid 4/5. I’m not sure what the story is on this design but it is one strange feature that I wasn’t pleased to discover. Less than that and you should be fine, but sadly in this travel pack the big screen lovers have been forsaken.Īlso, one additional irk of mine while reviewing the Daylite is that the external water bottle pouches seem to be pretty useless for standard sized water bottles as they fail to actually keep said bottles secure. Unfortunately, one down side that may be a deal breaker for many potential buyers is that a 15” laptop will not fit in the Daylite. The shoulder straps are extremely comfortable, even when on bare skin, and there are straps for your chest and waist if you are running or hiking (or just need some extra security) with the pack. Osprey didn’t forget about including comfort in their design either. “I’ve carried this pack through tight, packed stores, trains, buses, museums, restaurants and I have never once knocked into anyone or anything with it.” –From Amazon It can be deceiving though! At first the Daylite appears to be much too small for anything other than the bare essentials for a day around town, but when you go to pack for a short travel you discover that it is actually fairly roomy for what it is. Just enough room for an economical weekend trip worth of items, but not so big as to be bulky. In terms of space the Daylite seems to be the Goldilocks of the day pack world. I shouldn’t think to worry about the durability of the Daylight for quite some time after purchase. On the note of active use the Daylite seems to be of good quality material and the zips are pretty sturdy. The Daylite has lots of convenient pockets and places to store things as well as a compartment to insert a hydration pack if you are planning on using this pack for running or other outdoor activities. Osprey’s lifetime guarantee assures me that no matter what, my bag will be there for me when I need it and should the worst happen, Osprey will be there to get my back… literally 😉 While the Daylite isn’t perfect or the ideal pack for every situation, for what it is- a sturdy ultra-lightweight day pack- it does the job just fine. I’d have to say they did a pretty good job. The Daylite is Osprey’s attempt at creating the perfect sidekick to their larger bags like the Farpoint 40 or Farpoint 55. of capacity, a padded back panel, a small zippered front pocket the Daylite works great on your pack or on its own.
